Lesion Dermatology Service

Alongside our lesion removal service, there are times when we encounter a lesion that requires further assessment before we can proceed with treatment. In such cases, we may need to rely on a client’s GP for a confirmed diagnosis.

Unfortunately, this process can involve long wait times, and even after a GP appointment, a definitive diagnosis may not always be provided.

To help streamline this process, we offer our Map My Mole service—allowing us to assess, track, and monitor moles or blemishes. This service provides a detailed skin analysis, helping to identify any areas of concern and ensuring that any removal is carried out safely and appropriately at our clinic.

For many, accessing private dermatology services can be costly, with fees ranging from £250 to £300 per appointment. Additionally, securing a GP appointment can be time-consuming, often leading to a referral to a specialist, which may result in weeks of waiting—an anxious and frustrating experience for many.

By offering a mole and lesion screening service in our clinic through Map My Mole, we align with the British Association of Dermatologists’ tele dermatology guidelines. Each image is reviewed by leading dermatology experts, who generate quick detailed reports explaining the nature of the lesion. This ensures that clients receive clear, expert-informed information on whether we can proceed with safe removal.

If a mole or blemish is found to be potentially concerning, our dermatologist will provide a report to the clinic, which will then be shared with the client. This enables them to inform their GP promptly, potentially speeding up any necessary referral for further medical evaluation.

FAQ'S

IPL skin rejuvenation involves using intense pulses of specific wavelengths of light energy.
These are absorbed straight into the skin where the light is then converted to heat energy.
This is carried out in a controlled and specific manner so that very small and localized areas
of the skin can be targeted for a whole rejuvenation This can include sunspots, age spots,
and other areas of skin damage. This heat triggers skin cell rejuvenation allowing new skin
cells and collagen to replace the old in areas of damage, significantly improving the
appearance of the skin over the course of several sessions.
It’s not just damage that can be repaired with an IPL treatment, this can also help to heavily
reduce the signs of ageing too, including wrinkles and fine lines. This treatment uses light
waves which can deliberately target loose collagen deep within the skin tissue. This will be
removed by the body immediately, but the collagen will also be stimulated and reformed for
increased facial structure and improved volume. This treatment can improve your
complexion for smoother and younger looking skin.

No. Using an IPL for skin treatments is completely comfortable. The whole process will be
provided at your consultation. If you wish to go ahead a patch test will then be performed
before you can start treatment.

No, apart appearing slightly pink after your treatment, this will fade quickly. Apart from
wearing SPF and avoiding direct sunlight for the first couple weeks, there is no after effect
and downtime associated with this type of treatment.

Even though results are incredible and improved after just one treatment, most skin issues
require 3 to 6 sessions of this treatment as each session builds on the results of the previous
treatment, giving longer lasting effects and preventing recurrence of the original issue.

Before the treatment begins, we will cleanse the skin. A layer of liquid carbon is then applied to the skin, where it penetrates deep into your pores. As the carbon dries, it attaches itself to dirt, oil or dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Once dried, the carbon is ready to meet our medical grade, ND YAG laser.

The light from this ND YAG laser is only attracted to the carbon particles. The carbon absorbs the light energy as soon as we target the skin, causing it to vaporise. As the laser makes contact with the carbon, you will hear a loud audible ‘crack’ on contact. Although the noise is loud, this is nothing to worry about, and is just the sound of the laser vaporising the carbon and does not cause damage to your skin.

As the heat from our laser is pulsed deep into the skin, our skin’s natural healing mechanisms are activated in the deeper dermal layer. cellular turnover is then stimulated, and fibroblasts are ignited to begin regenerating collagen and elastin. Over a few weeks to months, the regenerative results will continue to work and enhance your results.

We recommend for longer noticeable change in the tone, firmness and radiance of the skin, multiple treatments are recommended.

Results are accumulative, each Hollywood carbon facial treatment builds upon the previous one. Once the regeneration of cell turnover is started, the best way to keep making improvement to the skin is to commit to a course of treatments, unless you just want a treatment for a special day.

We recommend 4-5 treatments over a period of 3 months with a booster treatment every six months for the best results and to maintain your glow.

No. You may feel a pleasant warmth to your skin, but it will not hurt. Clients generally feel relaxed and refreshed after their treatment.

No, the best thing about this treatment is that there is no downtime, the Hollywood Carbon Facial is extremely safe, you can resume your daily routine immediately after the treatment.

Side effects are really minimal, you may experience some slight redness and tingling although this will clear up within a few hours and can be soothed with some aloe vera gel. We recommend keeping the skin clean and dry, but once this has cleared up, makeup can be worn. We recommend using SPF 50 sun cream to protect the area for at least 1 month following your treatment, as failure to do so could result in hyperpigmentation.
