FAQs

What is microblading?
Microblading is a tattooing technique in which a small handheld tool made of several tiny needles is used to add semi-permanent pigment to the skin. Microblading differs from standard eyebrow tattooing because each hairstroke is created by hand using a blade which creates fine cuts in the skin, whereas eyebrow tattoos are done with a machine and single needle bundle.

Microblading is typically used on eyebrows to create, enhance or reshape their appearance in terms of both shape and colour. It deposits pigment into the upper region of the dermis, so it fades more rapidly than traditional tattooing techniques, which deposit pigment deeper. Microblading artists are not necessarily tattoo artists, and vice versa, because the techniques require different training.

We also offer a combination brow using a hand held machine if you prefer a more defined brow, this can be discussed at your consultation.

Microblading is suitable for men and women who wish to achieve natural looking eyebrows if they have become sparce, loss of brow due to medication or treatments, or just to get a fuller brow defined effect

Is it for me?
The microblading/powder procedure is a semi-permanent tattoo. Like all tattoos, microblading will slowly fade, depending on multiple factors, including skin type, UV exposure, elements found in skincare products and medications. The treatment lasts from 8 months to two years depending on your skin type, some people just hold on to pigment naturally than others, so please bear this in mind before you proceed with treatment. A touch-up session is performed 5-8 weeks after the first microblading/powder procedure and every 12-18 months thereafter if required.
Who may not be suitable for microblading?
Some clients are not suitable for this procedure or may need a doctors note before treatment can take place, these include conditions:

High blood pressure or heart conditions

Taking blood-thinners such as aspirin or similar medication

Diabetes

Pregnant or lactating

Glaucoma

Herpes simplex

Please contact us in the first instance if unsure.

What happens at the consultation?
During the free 20 minute consultation, we will go through the consultation forms and pros and cons of the treatment, perform a patch test with the pigments that we will be using, the treatment prices, which treatment will suit your skin type and answer any questions you may have and the overall effect that you are wishing to achieve. All this will be carried out before we take the deposit for your treatment which will then be made by appointment.

A £50 deposit will be required to hold your treatment date. This is non refundable but will be deducted from your overall treatment cost on the day that you come in. The final sum will be due at the the first appointment and we will then book you in for your final top up, 5-8 weeks after, which is included in the final price

A 48 hour cancellation policy will apply before commencing any treatment and we will then book an alternative date and your £50 deposit will be protected for your future session. Please contact us urgently if you think you may not be able to attend your appointment, so we can offer your slot to someone else

We understand that life can be hectic for most of us, but we do have to operate a 15 minute late policy, if you are over 15 minutes late for your appointments, we may not be able to treat you due to our booking system and managing other clients appointment times. If this happens we will then book you on the next available date

What happens after treatment?
Avoid getting the area wet for at least 7 days. This includes keeping your face dry during a shower.

Don’t wear makeup around your eyebrows for at least a week. This is because the pigments are still settling into the shallow cuts in your skin caused by the blading.

Don’t pick or rub the eyebrow area whilst it is healing.

Avoid saunas, swimming, and excessive sweating until the area is completely healed and you have a follow-up appointment.

Keep your hair away from your brow line.

Treat the area as a wound and keep clean

Apply any medicated cream provided by your technician as directed.

Is it painful?
Clients describe it like being a slight scratch to the skin, some people may feel sensitve in that area for up to 24 hours after the treatment but the redness and swelling normally subsides within 12 hours. It is advisable not to plan any social events during the 12 hours after your treatment. We will use a numbing cream on the area before we start the procedure to minimise any soreness that may occur.
